Fridays @ 7

Fridays @ 7 is an informal meeting of young adults mainly men from around the Carlton Colville area. We are a growing group of blokes who enjoy chilling out together, eating, drinking good coffee, meeting in a relaxed and informal way, watching films and exploring what the Christian life may mean for us in a way we understand and in a community where we have fun and learn.

We meet every Friday night at Carlton Colville Methodist Church on Lowestoft Road from 7.00pm.

Er.. that's not quite true …

We do dedicate some meetings to explore the Bible, and relate its message to our modern world, and the way we try to live our lives today. It's rare for us to progress beyond a few verses, as we as we are all passionate about improving our spiritual being, and all wanting to contribute our interpretation and understanding. Members research suggested topics, such as forgiveness, in depth and has led the discussion. Ian is always on hand to give direction and guidance, and his input is invaluable.

Ian brings us loads of Christian DVD's to watch, and ...

Er .. that's not quite true either …

Ian does bring interesting and relevant DVD's to the group, which we all enjoy and benefit from. However, other members also contribute: we have watched BBC recordings on the Life of Jesus, and The King James Bible which have given us valuable insight into the progress of Christianity. We enjoy the meetings because we are all fully signed up Christians and agree about everything, and ….

Er .. that's not quite true either …

We're a diverse bunch. Some of us already have a total commitment to the Christian faith, others are opening the door to a life with Jesus. It's a free space to ask questions and debate doubts and misgivings, and a place to develop our faith and a Christian way of life. Ian helps us with the difficult issues, and we appreciate his guidance because that is what it is, we are free to agree or disagree as we feel able.

Friday at Seven is great!

Yes, that is true! It is a time to relax with like minded friends. To recover from the stresses and strains of the past week, and we always end by asking our Creator to bless us and keep us safe to face the trials of the week ahead. The group works because we let God take us where he wants to lead, and it is always an uplifting journey!
